August 2026 Residential Property Price Index Data Announced
According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, while a nominal increase was experienced in housing prices, a decline was seen on a real basis.
The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the August 2026 Residential Property Price Index data with the public. Accordingly, housing prices increased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, recording an annual nominal increase of 23 percent.
General Index Change Rates
According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Residential Property Price Index, which tracks price changes adjusted for quality effects, reached the level of 236.8 in the August 2026 period.
According to the announced data, while the index showed an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, the annual nominal increase materialized as 23.0 percent.
Real and Nominal Changes
In August, housing prices recorded a nominal increase of 23 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
While a nominal increase occurred in the annual evaluation, housing prices showed a decrease of 6.5 percent in real terms during the same period.
Situation in the Three Major Cities
In the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir, increases of 1.9 percent, 1.5 percent, and 2.7 percent, respectively, were recorded in August compared to the previous month.
On an annual basis, index values rose by 26.3 percent in Istanbul, 24.8 percent in Ankara, and 23.3 percent in İzmir.
Annual Changes by Region
According to examinations made based on the Classification of Statistical Regional Units, the highest annual price increase in the August 2026 period was experienced in the region of Bingöl, Elazığ, Malatya, Tunceli, Van, Bitlis, Hakkâri, and Muş with a rate of 27.0 percent.
The lowest annual price increase in the same period was detected in the Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ region with a rate of 13.0 percent.
