According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the automotive industry, one of the industrial group sectors, maintained its leading position in August with 2 billion 791 million dollars in exports.
Chemicals and chemical products ranked second with 2 billion 697 million dollars, while the electrical and electronics sector took third place with 1 billion 725 million dollars.
Sectors and Groups Showing Increases
The sector that achieved the highest percentage increase in exports in August was jewelry with a rate of 174.7%.
The industrial group's exports were calculated at 16.7 billion dollars with a 9.1% increase. The agricultural group realized 2.8 billion dollars in exports with a 4.3% increase, and the mining group achieved 650.4 million dollars in exports with a 24.4% rise.
Countries with the Highest Exports
According to the announced data, Germany ranked first on the list of countries with the highest exports last month, with approximately 1.6 billion dollars.
Germany was followed by the United States with 1.4 billion dollars and the United Kingdom with 1.1 billion dollars, respectively.
Export Performance of Cities
During this period, the top three cities with the highest exports were determined as Istanbul with 8.8 billion dollars, Kocaeli with 1.7 billion dollars, and Ankara with 1.3 billion dollars.
Turkish Exporters Assembly President Mustafa Gültepe stated that 874 companies made exports for the first time in August and that the export contribution of these companies approached 83 million dollars.
