Automotive sector becomes the top exporter in September
Turkey's total export figures in September showed an increase compared to the same period of last year, with the automotive sector taking the lead.
According to data announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, general exports increased by 15.4 percent annually in September, and the automotive industry reached the highest export figure.
Increase in General Export Figures
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey's general exports experienced an increase of 15.4 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 25 billion 976 million dollars.
Automotive Sector in First Place
Among the industrial group sectors, the automotive industry achieved the title of the sector with the highest exports in September with an export volume of 3 billion 940 million dollars and grew by 7.7 percent on an annual basis.
Other Important Sectors
The automotive sector was followed by the chemicals and products sector with 3 billion 68 million dollars, while the electrical and electronics sector realized exports of 2 billion 63 million dollars.
High Increase in Jewelry Sector
Displaying a remarkable performance in September, the jewelry sector managed to increase its exports by 203.3 percent to raise it to the level of 1 billion 512 million dollars.
Distribution by Country and City
While Germany was the country with the most exports in September with approximately 1.87 billion dollars, Istanbul ranked first in the city rankings with 9.54 billion dollars in exports.
