Billion-lira investment in Turkey's postal sector in the first half of the year
As e-commerce grows, leading to an increase in cargo and package shipments, the sector's investments for the first six months have been announced.
Total investments made in Turkey's postal sector in the first half of 2026 amounted to 3 billion 524 million liras. With the growth of e-commerce, the increase in postal parcels and cargo shipments continued.

Total investments made in Turkey's postal sector in the first half of the year were recorded at 3 billion 524 million liras. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation and technological developments in the postal ecosystem.
Minister Uraloğlu pointed out that the sector needs to generate common ideas in order to reach regional and global development targets by benefiting from digital infrastructure.
Increase in Postal Traffic and Cargo Shipments
According to the 2026 First Half Turkey Postal Sector Market Data Report prepared by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, cargo shipments increased with the growth of e-commerce.
The number of postal parcels and cargo shipments, which was approximately 691 million in the first half of last year, showed a 5.4 percent increase in the same period of this year, reaching 728.31 million.
Number and Distribution of Employees in the Sector
While service providers continue their investments in line with the increase in postal traffic and the need to respond to demand, the total number of employees in the sector reached 122,804 people.
PTT, which is obliged to provide universal postal service across the country, employed 32 percent of the total personnel, followed by Yurtiçi Kargo with 14 percent and Aras Kargo with 11 percent.
