BIST 100 index closes the day with a loss on Borsa Istanbul
Experiencing a sharp decline, the BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul finished the day at 13,122.58 points, with all sector indices losing value.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul decreased by 769.72 points compared to the previous close, ending the day with a 5.54 percent loss at 13,122.58 points, while the total transaction volume reached 262.4 billion liras.
General Decline in Sector Indices
The banking index declined by 6.38 percent and the holding index fell by 6.48 percent.
While all sector indices traded in the market lost value, the financial leasing and factoring sector experienced the highest drop with 9.74 percent.
Global and Local Agendas Are Being Monitored
As general selling pressure persists in the markets, investors have turned their attention to the monetary policy decisions to be announced by the US Federal Reserve.
Analysts stated that intense economic data to be released domestically and abroad, as well as the steps to be taken by central banks, are being closely monitored.
Technical Levels and Expectations
Market experts reported that technically, the 13,000 and 12,900 point levels act as support for the BIST 100 index.
It was stated that in potential recovery movements, the 13,300 and 13,400 point levels will be monitored as resistance.
