Location and Scope of the Meeting
Organized by the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology, the Blue Economy and Green Energy Focused Cooperation Meeting took place at the Port of Çanakkale Hall.
Held with broad stakeholder participation, the event aimed to develop cooperation between the university, public sector, and private sector in the fields of maritime and environment.
Broad Participation of Industry Representatives
Managers from institutions such as the South Marmara Development Agency, Offshore Wind Energy Association, and Turkish Port Operators Association attended the meeting.
Additionally, officials from the Port of Çanakkale and academics from numerous faculties and vocational schools were present at the meeting.
Main Agenda Items and Projects
Hosted by Dean Prof. Dr. Murat Yiğit, the discussions focused on green energy transformation and sustainability in ports.
Joint projects that can be implemented on a regional scale and the potential for offshore wind energy were evaluated in detail.
Emphasis on Blue Homeland and Development
ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt Erenoğlu emphasized that the meeting will strengthen the university's pioneering role in the field of marine sciences.
He stated that they support the Blue Homeland vision through scientific studies by addressing Turkey's seas along the axis of economic development and energy.
