While the BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed the day with a 2.38% loss in value at 12,592.76 points, the total transaction volume reached 115.2 billion liras and all sector indices lost value.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed the day losing 2.38% in value at 12,592.76 points, decreasing by 306.59 points compared to the previous close.

While the total transaction volume realized at the level of 115.2 billion liras throughout the day, broad-based sales were effective in the index.

Changes in Sector Indices

While the banking index lost 0.89% in value, the decline in the holding index was recorded as 3.31%.

While all sector indices lost value, the sector that suffered the most losses in the market was financial leasing factoring with 8.73%.

Developments in Global Markets

Rising oil prices after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's peace proposal increased inflation concerns.

Expectations that the US Federal Reserve could continue interest rate hikes and rising bond yields are suppressing risk appetite globally.

Domestic Markets and CMB Statement

While the BIST 100 index declined on Borsa Istanbul domestically, developments regarding ongoing fund investigations were in the focus of investors.

The Capital Markets Board announced that canceled instructions transmitted via TEFAS on September 17 regarding funds subject to liquidation will be covered from the liquidation balance.

Bank Loan Campaigns

In addition to developments in the market, interest-free loan and current personal loan campaigns by numerous banks targeting new customers were also monitored.
