Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index starts the day with a decline
According to opening data in the markets, the BIST 100 index declined to 14,219.98 points, while sector indices showed varying rates of change.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.11 percent decrease compared to the previous close, at 14,219.98 points.
Opening Values of the BIST 100 Index
Following a selling-heavy trend yesterday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had completed the day with a 1.60 percent loss in value at 14,235.83 points. At the open, the index dropped by 15.86 points and 0.11 percent compared to the previous close, falling to 14,219.98 points.
Latest Status in Sector Indices
In the opening session, the banking index gained 0.11 percent and the holding index gained 0.06 percent in value. Among the sectors, forestry, paper and printing was the top gainer with 0.41 percent, while the IT sector experienced the steepest decline with 2.22 percent.
Negative Trend in Global Markets
Global markets are following a negative trend due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, selling pressure in the bond market, and uncertainties regarding artificial intelligence companies.
Market Agenda and Technical Levels
Analysts stated that the domestic budget balance will be monitored, while internationally, the Eurozone foreign trade balance and the US New York Fed manufacturing index will be followed. From a technical perspective, it was noted that 14,100 and 14,000 points are support levels, while 14,400 and 14,500 points act as resistance positions for the BIST 100 index.
