Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index surpasses 14,600 points

After a decline in the first two days of the week, the Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index returned to an upward trend, ending yesterday up 0.95% at 14,610 points.

Rise and Trading Volume Dynamics

While the losses at the beginning of the week were evaluated as a breather and profit-taking rather than a disruption of the main trend, a session under the control of buyers was observed throughout the day.

Yesterday's trading volume of 220 billion lira was recorded as the highest level of the week, and these purchases following high-volume sales were found to be technically significant.

Sectoral Distribution and Global Impacts

While the banking index was the main sector carrying the index with a 1.99% increase, it was stated that the Central Bank's drop in funding costs supported the banks.

While US-Iran diplomatic contacts and a 2% recovery in Brent crude supported risk appetite in the markets, the technology index decoupled negatively with a 1.43% decline.

Technical Levels and Critical Thresholds

Technically, the first daily close above the 14,600 level took place, while it was emphasized that the actual critical threshold is 14,700 points.

In possible pullbacks, 14,515 and 14,480 stand out as the initial support levels, and lower supports will be monitored in case of a drop below these levels.
