On Borsa İstanbul, the BIST 100 index completed Wednesday with a 1.25 percent loss in value at 14,050.56 points, while the total trading volume reached a level of 195.2 billion liras.

The BIST 100 index closed at the 14,050.56 level by declining 178.45 points compared to the previous close, and the total trading volume was 195.2 billion liras.
Sectoral Developments
While the banking index experienced a 0.06 percent loss and the holding index a 0.23 percent loss in value, the sector that gained the most of the day was mining with a 1.69 percent increase.
The forestry, paper, and printing sector was recorded as the sector index that lost the most of the day with a 3.87 percent drop.
Impact of Global Markets
The flare-up of clashes between the US and Iran increased concerns regarding energy prices and inflation in global markets.
As a result of these developments, risk appetite was suppressed on a global scale, and private sector employment in the US increased by 38 thousand people in August, remaining below expectations.
