Two Ukrainian citizens were lightly injured in an explosion that occurred early Wednesday morning near the train station in Augsburg, Germany. The station was reopened to transportation after the suspicious package found at the scene was determined to be harmless.

An explosion took place just after 03:00 local time on Wednesday near the train station in the German city of Augsburg. As a result of the explosion, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old young man were lightly injured, and it was reported that both injured individuals, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, are Ukrainian citizens.

Suspicious Package Inspection and Reopening of the Station

Following the explosion, police teams detected a suspicious package in the area and temporarily closed the Augsburg Train Station. As a result of the inspections, the package was determined to be harmless, and the halted train services were resumed as of 10:00 local time.

Police spokesperson Timo Küfner announced that the danger situation was eliminated after the object found in front of the main train station turned out to be harmless and that the station was reopened, stating that trains were continuing their services smoothly.

Following the confirmation of Moscow's role by German authorities, it was announced that the Russian consulate in Bonn would be closed and the contract of the Russian House cultural center in Berlin would be terminated.
