Borsa Istanbul Completed Thursday with Gains and SPK Issued Interim Payment Decision

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed Thursday with a 2.53% gain at 12,249.04 points, while the Capital Markets Board decided on interim payments for funds in the process of liquidation.

Data of the Day in Markets

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed Thursday up 2.53% at 12,249.04 points with the spread of bounce-back purchases following losses over the past three trading days.

The index recorded an increase of 301.86 points compared to the previous close, while the total trading volume reached the level of 188.6 billion lira.

Sectoral Developments

The banking index gained 1.94% and the holding index gained 0.50%.

Among sector indices, the IT sector was the top gainer with 5.26%, while the financial leasing and factoring sector was the biggest loser with 7.06%.

CMB Step for Funds in Liquidation Process

The Capital Markets Board signed an important decision regarding funds whose liquidation process is ongoing.

It was reported that an interim payment will be made promptly to all participation share owners whose reconciliation transactions have been completed, to be offset against the final amount they will be entitled to as a result of the liquidation.

In line with the decision taken, the interim payment amount to be paid separately to each investor for each fund will not exceed 1 million lira.

Evaluation by President Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made evaluations regarding the developments in the fund market.

Stating that the problem emerging in a certain part of the fund market has been successfully overcome, Erdoğan emphasized that no one's rights will be violated within the framework of capital market rules.

It was underlined that no opportunity will be given for this issue to turn into a threat element against economic security and social peace.
