Despite the negative sentiment in European stock markets, the BIST 100 index closed the day with gains as total trading volume reached billions of liras.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul closed Wednesday up by 0.40 percent at 13,251.85 points following purchases that emerged after a volatile course throughout the day.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul managed to complete the day with a positive outlook despite the negative trend in European stock markets.
The index increased by 53.01 points compared to the previous closure, recovering throughout the day with support purchases emerging from the 13,150 levels.
Sectoral Changes
The banking index gained 0.10 percent, while the holding index declined by 1.65 percent.
Among the sectors, the highest gainer was chemistry, petroleum, and plastic with 2.42 percent, while the sector that lost the most value was financial leasing and factoring with a decline of 8.62 percent.
Global Markets and Agenda
In global markets, data showing that economic activity in the U.S. reached a 52-month high was closely monitored.
Investors' focus remains on critical foreign policy and economic agenda items such as U.S.-Iran talks and the U.S.-China summit.
Prominent Expectations in Markets
Analysts stated that weekly money and bank statistics will be followed domestically, while the current account balance, building permits, and new home sales in the U.S. will be tracked abroad.
From a technical perspective, the 13,400 and 13,500 point levels act as resistance, while the 13,100 and 13,000 point levels serve as support for the BIST 100 index.
