The November futures price of Brent crude increased by 1.7% to reach $107.52 per barrel. This price increase was driven by diminished expectations for negotiations between the US and Iran, supply concerns in Saudi Arabia, and developments in the Middle East.

At the same time, the October futures price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was determined at $103.18. Markets are closely tracking global developments.

US and Iran Negotiation Process

The rise in oil prices was significantly influenced by diminishing expectations of negotiations between the US and Iran, which heightened concerns regarding global oil supply.

Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary-General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that there will be no talks until the country's conditions are met.

Supply Concerns in Saudi Arabia

While the Houthis targeted border areas in retaliation for operations by the Saudi-led coalition, the General Directorate of Civil Defense issued warnings in various regions.

The continued closure of the East-West pipeline, alongside Yanbu, the primary oil export hub on the Red Sea, supports supply concerns.

Impact of Fed Interest Rate Expectations

Strengthening expectations that the US Federal Reserve will tighten its monetary policy are among the factors limiting the rise in oil prices.

It is stated that high interest rates could suppress demand by slowing economic activity, and a strengthening dollar also affects prices.

Challenging Oil Transportation

The Houthis' approach to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and route changes that lengthen journeys have significantly increased charter and fuel costs.

While tanker freight rates have reached record levels, supply chain costs in maritime transportation are trending upward.
