Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Puts New Series Banknotes into Circulation
New series 50 TL and 5 TL banknotes prepared by the Central Bank have been released to the market and put into use as of today.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, based on the authority given by Law No. 1211, has put the E9 Emission Group 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes into circulation as of today.
New Banknotes Put into Circulation
With the official announcement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, it was announced that the new series banknotes have been released to the market. Prepared within the scope of the E9 Emission Group, the 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes have been made available for citizens' use as of today.
Signatures Re-arranged
Compared to the previous series banknotes, the most prominent change in the new money was made in the signature area. The signatures on the banknotes were reshaped along with Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan.
Within the framework of the arrangement made, the signatures on the 50 TL banknotes belong to Deputy Governor Dr. Gazi İshak Kara, while on the 5 TL banknotes they were printed to belong to Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul.
General Characteristics Remained the Same
In the Central Bank's statement, it was emphasized that, except for the signatures on the banknotes in question, their dimensions, front and back compositions, and general characteristics and appearance are completely identical to the previous series.
It was reported that the new series banknotes will continue to be used simultaneously with the previous series banknotes currently in circulation in the market.
