Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye Puts New Series 50 TL and 5 TL Banknotes into Circulation

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that the new series 50 TL and 5 TL banknotes, prepared under the E9 Emission Group, will be put into circulation as of today. According to the regulation, the signatures on the banknotes have been renewed, while other design elements remained the same.

Banknotes Put into Circulation

According to the statement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the E9 Emission Group 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes were put into circulation as of today. This regulation was carried out based on the authority granted to the bank by Law No. 1211.

Signatures Renewed

The most fundamental change among the new series banknotes was made in the authorized signatures on them. The 9th series 50 TL banknotes bear the signatures of Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan and Deputy Governor Dr. Gazi İshak Kara.

It was officially reported that the 8th series 5 TL banknotes will feature the signatures of Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan and Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul.

Design and Dimensions Remained the Same

Except for the signature changes on them, the new series banknotes bear completely identical features with the previous series in terms of dimensions, front and back compositions, and general characteristics and appearances.

It was stated that these new banknotes entering circulation will continue to be used simultaneously with the previous series banknotes currently in circulation.
