Central Party Leader Pelin Gündeş Bakır's Statement on Low Salaries

Central Party Chairman and former Kayseri Deputy Prof. Dr. Pelin Gündeş Bakır made evaluations regarding the reasons why employee and retiree salaries in Turkey remain at a low level.

The Reason for Low Salaries

Central Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Pelin Gündeş Bakır shared the reasons behind the low salaries received by workers and retirees in Turkey with the public.

Bakır stated that billions of dollars from the national budget were transferred to refugees and that basic services such as health and education were covered free of charge.

Emphasis on Sacrifice and the Budget

Drawing attention to past years in her statements regarding the issue, Bakır argued that the expenditures and sacrifices made from the budget have affected today's economic picture.

In her statement, Bakır expressed that the reason salaries are this low today is because of the sacrifices made during those years for about 10 years or more.

Turkish Language Lessons in Syria

Touching upon certain developments in foreign policy as well as the salary issue, the Central Party leader conveyed that they learned that Turkish had been removed from among the elective courses in Syria.

Stating that she as a party leader would never accept this situation, Bakır called on the government to urgently address this issue.
