Within the scope of the announced program, the 2026 growth forecast was updated to 3.3 percent and the year-end inflation forecast to 28.4 percent.

Details of the New Medium-Term Program

The Medium-Term Program, serving as the roadmap for the Turkish economy covering the 2027-2029 period, was announced by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. The program includes macroeconomic targets and forecasts, the revenue-expenditure and borrowing outlook, appropriation proposal ceilings for public administrations, and the reform agenda.

Growth and Inflation Forecasts

According to the disclosed data, in line with energy prices and external factors, the 2026 growth forecast was updated to 3.3 percent, and the year-end inflation forecast was updated to 28.4 percent. The new targets determined by the economic administration for the program period were shared with the public.

Financial Indicators and Reserves

Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the share of Turkish lira deposits in total deposits rose to 61.5 percent as of August 28. He also stated that the exit from currency-protected deposits has been completed, gross reserves have reached 188.2 billion dollars, and the risk premium has fallen below 220.
