Cevdet Yılmaz's Statement on Terror-Free Turkey Process and Second Board Meeting

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz addressed the Terror-Free Turkey process at the Eastern and Southeastern Opinion Leaders Meeting held in Tuzla, announcing that the board established at the executive level will hold its second meeting tomorrow morning.
Important Statements at the Tuzla Meeting
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the program organized within the scope of the Century of Turkey Meetings at the Tuzla Municipality Wedding Palace and Cultural Center, making important evaluations.
Sharing economic data during the program, Yılmaz stated that the national income, which was 238 billion dollars in 2002, is expected to reach 1.8 trillion dollars by the end of 2026.
Economic and Social Cost of Terrorism
Devoting a large part of his speech to the Terror-Free Turkey process, Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that terrorism has posed a major obstacle to the country's development for many years.
According to the calculations of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, he stated that the economic loss suffered by the country due to the terrorism issue lasting over 40 years is at least 2.3 trillion dollars.
Regional Potential and Investments
Stating that the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions could not fully utilize their potential for a long time due to security problems, Yılmaz said that this situation is now behind them.
He expressed that the oil extracted in Gabar and the increase in agricultural production are concrete indicators that these regions have begun to develop once again with their 'Fertile Crescent' identity.
Board Established at the Government Level
Stating that they are in the implementation phase of the law enacted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Yılmaz recalled that a board was formed at the executive level under his chairmanship.
He noted that the board consists of the Minister of National Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Interior, Minister of Justice, Secretary-General of the National Security Council, Secretary-General of the Presidency, and the Head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
Second Meeting Date and Stages of the Process
Yılmaz announced that they will hold the second meeting of the board, which includes representatives from all relevant ministries and institutions, tomorrow morning.
He stated that the first phase of the process is disarmament and the dissolution of structures, while the second phase encompasses the determination of developments on the ground and the execution of the legal process.
