According to the July 2026 construction production index data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI), the annual downward trend in the sector continued, with production decreasing by 4.7 percent.

The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the results of the construction production index for July with the public.

According to the official data released, the series of annual production declines in the construction sector continued in this period as well.

Annual Performance of Sub-sectors

In July 2026, the building construction sector index decreased by 8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the same period, the civil engineering sector index recorded an increase of 14.0 percent.

The specialized construction activities sector index saw a decrease of 4.9 percent compared to the same month of last year.

Production Developments on a Monthly Basis

Despite the annual decline, construction production increased by 1.1 percent on a monthly basis compared to the previous month.

When sub-sectors are examined on a monthly basis, a partial recovery was observed in July.

In July 2026, the building construction sector index recorded an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the previous month.

The civil engineering sector index rose by 2 percent compared to the previous month.

The specialized construction activities sector index realized with a 1.0 percent increase compared to the previous month.
