Consumer Confidence Index Reaches July 2018 Level in September
The results of the September consumer tendency survey, conducted jointly by TURKSTAT and the CBRT, showed that the confidence index has risen after a long hiatus.
Prepared in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the consumer confidence index recorded an increase of 1.3 percent in September.
September Consumer Confidence Index Values
According to the consumer confidence index data for September announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the index increased by 1.3 percent. With this increase, the index reached a level of 91.9, hitting the highest level seen since July 2018.
Financial Situation and Expectation Sub-Indices
The financial situation of the household index in the present period declined to a level of 75.3. In contrast, the financial situation expectation of the household index covering the next 12-month period rose to 93.7.
Economic Outlook and Spending Tendencies
The general economic situation expectation index rose to 89.8 in September. On the other hand, the intention to spend on durable consumer goods in the period covering the next 12 months reached 108.8.
