An important signing ceremony was held at the Turkish House in New York, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was present to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
TÜNAŞ and USTDA Partnership
Turkey Nuclear Energy Inc., responsible for the development of new nuclear power plant projects, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency will develop a joint project.
Signatories
At the ceremony, accompanied by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, signatures were cast by TÜNAŞ General Manager Necati Yamaç and USTDA Deputy Director Thomas Hardy.
Evaluation of Technologies
Within the framework of the agreement, small modular reactor designs and 4th generation reactor designs by US companies will be handled in detail from various aspects.
Budget and Technical Study
Under the agreement, which has a budget of approximately $2 million, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency will finance the technical study lasting at least one year.
