According to preliminary data, the total number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to 7 on Thursday. This figure had been recorded at 11 on the previous day.

The 10-day average of ship transits in the region stood at 15. In the pre-war period, 125 large vessels were passing through the strait daily.
Cargo and type distribution of ships passing through the strait
According to Kpler data, out of the 7 ships passing through the strait on Thursday, 2 were outbound while 5 were inbound. Of the outbound vessels, one was carrying fertilizer while the other was empty.
The inbound vessels included Panamax, Handysize, and Supramax type dry bulk carriers, as well as a medium-range petroleum product tanker.

The available data does not cover vessels that passed by turning off their Automatic Identification System devices in order to avoid detection.
Movements of QatarEnergy-affiliated ships
Two empty vessels affiliated with QatarEnergy, Al Ghashamiya and Al Daayen, were seen inside the strait on September 9 and 6, respectively.
The vessel Al Marrouna, controlled by QatarEnergy, exited the strait this week and carried cargo from Ras Laffan to Pakistan on September 10.

According to tracking data, a total of 26 commodity ships passed through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Thursday; 10 of them entered and 16 exited.
