According to weekly data published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the sector's total loan volume decreased and declined in the week ending September 18. In the same period, total deposits and the legal equity of the banking system increased.

Loan Volume and Deposit Changes

According to the weekly bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the sector's total loan volume decreased by 32 billion 144 million liras as of September 18, falling to 28 trillion 237 billion 686 million liras. Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbank, increased by 388 billion 112 million liras last week.

Consumer Loans and Distribution

The amount of consumer loans decreased by 23 billion 928 million liras in this period, dropping to 3 trillion 451 billion 206 million liras. Of this amount, 835 billion 18 million liras consisted of housing loans, 41 billion 308 million liras of vehicle loans, and 2 trillion 574 billion 880 million liras of personal finance loans.

Commercial Loans and Credit Cards

The amount of installment commercial loans increased by 3 billion 481 million liras in the relevant period, reaching the level of 4 trillion 265 billion 39 million liras. Meanwhile, banks' individual credit card receivables decreased by 57 billion 173 million liras, standing at 3 trillion 440 billion 275 million liras.

Non-Performing Loans and Legal Equity

Non-performing loans in the banking sector increased by 9 billion 267 million liras as of September 18 compared to the previous week, rising to 876 billion 498 million liras. In the same period, the banking system's legal equity increased by 61 billion 552 million liras, rising to 6 trillion 56 billion 344 million liras.
