Diesel Price Hike Expected Following US and Iran Developments
As fluctuations in the oil market reflect on fuel prices, a price increase of 2.55 liras per liter is anticipated in the diesel group.
Diplomatic uncertainties between the US and Iran and volatility in oil prices are changing fuel boards once again. According to information obtained from industry sources, the liter price of diesel is expected to increase by 2.55 liras starting tomorrow.
Global Developments and the Oil Market
The failure of the expected contact between the US and Iran to take place at the UN Summit in the US and Tehran's persistence in its nuclear program have increased uncertainties regarding the future of the war. This heightened uncertainty in the markets directly reflected on oil prices as well.
Oil prices, which showed an upward trend the day before, recorded a decline the following day after the experienced fluctuations.
Expected Increase in Diesel Prices
The activity in the global oil market directly affected fuel prices as well. In this context, a 2.55 lira hike is expected to take effect on the liter price of diesel starting tomorrow.
New Price Projections by Cities
With the expected hike, the liter price of diesel is projected to rise to 93.45 liras in Istanbul, 94.55 liras in Ankara, and 94.85 liras in İzmir.
Along with the same increase, the liter price of diesel in eastern provinces is expected to climb to 96.25 liras.
The Picture Following the Previous Discount
Following the 5.57 lira discount applied to diesel prices on September 24, the liter prices in the three major metropolitan cities had retreated to around the 90 lira level.
With this discount, the liter price of diesel had dropped to approximately 90.80 liras in Istanbul, 91.90 liras in Ankara, and 92.20 liras in İzmir.
