Domestic tram support added to Samsun rail system
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu shared the details of the new domestic tram sets put into service in Samsun and announced that the remaining vehicles will be completed next year.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that two of the 12 new domestic trams to be added to the Samsun rail system have been put into service with a ceremony, and the remaining 10 vehicles will be completed next year.
Ceremony for the New Trams
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the Ceremony for Putting New Tram Sets into Service held at the tram stop in Samsun Cumhuriyet Square. It was stated that with this ceremony, the city's rail system fleet was further strengthened with new vehicles.
Technical Specifications of the Vehicles
Produced by Bozankaya with domestic and national resources, the trams consist of 7 sections and have a capacity of approximately 450 passengers. Thanks to their ability to climb up to a 10 percent slope, the vehicles can reach points such as the City Hospital and the public campus.
To Be Completed Next Year
Stating that two vehicles of the total 12-vehicle project were put into service today, Minister Uraloğlu noted that all of the other 10 vehicles will have entered service next year. The importance of cooperation between the Ministry and Samsun Metropolitan Municipality was emphasized.
