The Reserve Transportation Process

Within the scope of this shipment, approximately 86 ton gold reserves kept in the US and Canada were transported to London.

Rationale for the Relocation Decision

Wanting to strengthen crisis preparedness against rising geopolitical risks, the bank's management deemed it appropriate to take this strategic step.

With this decision, it was targeted that the gold could be bought and sold more quickly in the London market.

Increase in London's Share

Following this shipment operation, London's share of the Netherlands' total gold reserves increased significantly.

According to calculations, the share of London-based reserves rose from 18.1 percent to 32.1 percent.
