August Inflation Expectation
The most important agenda item for domestic markets this week is the inflation data. Economist Mustafa Aşkın stated that inflation in August is expected to be around 1.90 percent on a monthly basis.
Aşkın specifically pointed out that this level could create an effect that pulls down annual inflation.
Central Bank and Interest Rate Decisions
Stating that recent steps taken by the Central Bank have relieved the market, Mustafa Aşkın emphasized that the interest rate decision to be made at the September Monetary Policy Committee meeting is of critical importance.
Aşkın expressed that, barring a major external shock, a symbolic rate cut could be welcomed positively by the stock market.
Cautious Period in Borsa İstanbul
Saying that a cautious approach should be taken in Borsa İstanbul in the short term, Economist Mustafa Aşkın stated that the index is struggling to rise above the 14,400 level.
It was stated that if the 14,000 level is broken downward, the 13,700 points could become an important support position.
New Capital Inflow Required for the Rise
For a sustained rise to occur in the market, new capital inflow into the system is necessary.
Additionally, it was noted that the effects of recent regulations must be fully digested by the market.
