Economists' July Current Account Surplus and Annual Deficit Expectations Announced
According to the expectation survey involving 17 economists, Turkey is expected to post a current account surplus in July.
Participating in the AA Finance Balance of Payments Expectation Survey, 17 economists predicted that Turkey would record a current account surplus of $582.3 million in July, while setting their current account deficit expectation for the entire year of 2026 at $51.054 billion.

17 economists participated in the expectation survey conducted by AA Finance. Participants estimated that Turkey's current account balance would post a surplus of $582.3 million regarding July.
Expectation Ranges
The July current account balance expectations of the experts participating in the survey ranged between a deficit of $200 million and a surplus of $1.3 billion.
Annual Current Account Deficit Forecast
Economists announced their current account deficit expectation for the whole year of 2026 at the level of $51.054 billion.
Year-End Expectation Limits
Regarding year-end current account deficit forecasts, experts' predictions took shape between $45 billion and $55 billion.
June Data
Turkey's current account balance had recorded a deficit of $4.194 billion in the previous month of June. During this period, the annualized current account deficit stood at $38.9 billion.
Release Date of Statistics
The official July 2026 Balance of Payments Statistics, to be announced to the public by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, will be published on Friday, September 11.
