Following the Economy Coordination Meeting held in Beştepe under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a written statement was issued regarding the funds to be liquidated and developments in the capital markets.
Background of the Meeting
An coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the participation of economic policymakers and senior executives of relevant institutions.
In this meeting, recent developments in the capital markets were evaluated in detail, and participants presented their work.
Protection of Investor Rights
President Erdoğan underlined that the work regarding the funds decided to be liquidated must be carried out with great meticulousness.
It was also emphasized that protecting investor rights and making the payments in the most fair, sound, and prompt manner are primary priorities.
Fund Coordination Board
A new administrative step was taken to ensure that the liquidation process is carried out extremely swiftly.
Accordingly, the Fund Coordination Board was officially established to carry out its work under the chairmanship of the Vice President.
State Supervisory Council
New audit mechanisms were put into effect to reinforce the environment of trust in the capital markets and increase transparency.
The State Supervisory Council initiated a comprehensive examination and audit process covering investment fund transactions in the capital markets.
Transfer Processes
Informational briefings were also provided at the meeting regarding the transfer processes of certain companies in the financial sector.
The process regarding the transfer of Katılımevim and Birevim Savings Finance Companies, as well as İktisat Katılım Bankası, to Türkiye Emlak Katılım Bankası was presented.
Payments and New Regulations
The Capital Markets Board presented the roadmap for investors whose entitlement reconciliations have been completed in the funds within the scope of liquidation.
It was decided to implement necessary administrative and legal regulations to prevent similar situations from recurring in the future.
