Speaking at a fair opening in Tekirdağ, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat drew attention to Turkey's production power, emphasized that supply security in agriculture is a matter of national security, and announced the good news of cash support for tradespeople.

Production and Industrial Power

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated that Turkey is among the top 10 countries in the world in the industry, agriculture, and services sectors.

Stating that increases ranging between 40 percent and 70 percent have been achieved in production, Bolat noted that this situation provides consumers with the opportunity to access goods at reasonable prices.

High-Participation Fair Opening

Numerous protocol members and invited guests attended the opening ceremony of the fair held in the Tekirdağ coastal landfill area.

The Governor of Tekirdağ, the Governor of Edirne, and the Mayor of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality also took part in the opening program.

Agricultural Significance of Tekirdağ

Stating that Tekirdağ holds a very strong position in agriculture and industry, Minister Bolat conveyed that the city ranks third in Turkey in wheat production.

Additionally, the city ranks first nationwide in oilseeds, sunflower, and canola.

Supply Security and Strategic Targets

Emphasizing that supply security in agriculture is a matter of national security, Bolat stated that the pandemic and wartime processes have made food security vital.

He stated that Turkey holds the position of Europe's top agricultural country and is among the top 10 self-sufficient countries in the world.

2026 Growth Targets

Stating that the agricultural sector grew by 13.3 percent in the second quarter, Minister Bolat said that double-digit growth is expected by the end of the year.

It is projected that the Turkish economy will close the year 2026 overall with a growth rate of over 3 percent.

150 Million Liras Support for Tradespeople

Giving good news to the tradespeople of Tekirdağ at the end of his speech, Minister Bolat announced that cash support will be provided to tradespeople throughout the city.

It was announced that 150 million liras in cash support will be sent to be delivered to Tekirdağ and its districts.
