Eti Bakır Siirt Plant Announced Annual Production Data and Operations
Sharing the activities carried out at the facility in Siirt, the plant manager provided detailed information on annual production capacity, employment rates, and environmental efforts.
Olcay Kotiloğlu, Plant Manager of Eti Bakır Siirt Plant, shared the facility's annual production figures at a press conference. It was reported that 1 million tons of run-of-mine ore are extracted annually at the facility operating in Maden village, producing 80,000 tons of concentrate ore and 14,000 tons of cathode copper.
Production Capacity and Shipment Process
Olcay Kotiloğlu, Plant Manager of Eti Bakır Siirt Plant, explained the facility's activities at a press conference held at the institution. Stating that the enterprise is located in Maden village, Kotiloğlu noted that 1 million tons of run-of-mine ore are provided to the economy annually. It was stated that the produced concentrate is sent to the Samsun Smelting and Electrolysis Plant.
Vertical Shaft Tower System, a First in Turkey
One of the few systems in Turkey and the world is used in underground mining production. Operating with automation, the tower system has a depth of 669 meters underground and a height of approximately 74.5 meters above ground. This system safely carries out both ore and personnel transportation.
Employment and Regional Development Efforts
It was announced that a total of 848 people are employed at the plant. It was emphasized that 96 percent of the blue-collar employees consist of local residents. It was conveyed that the goal is to introduce young engineers to the country's mining sector.
Environment and Afforestation Activities
In addition to mining activities, importance is also given to environmental projects. It was stated that approximately 960 thousand saplings have been brought together with the soil in the region. Within the scope of the efforts, it is aimed to reach the target of 1 million saplings.
Definition of Run-of-Mine Ore
Run-of-mine ore is its raw state as extracted from the mine without undergoing any processing. This type of ore draws attention with its raw and natural structure that has not gone through stages such as crushing, screening, or beneficiation.
