Financial instrument that yielded the highest return to investors in August announced
According to TURKSTAT data, bullion gold provided the highest monthly real return in August. US dollar and the stock market caused losses for investors.
The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the real return rates of financial investment instruments for August. According to the released data, bullion gold became the financial investment instrument that offered the highest monthly real return to its investors on the basis of both CPI and D-PPI.
Bullion Gold Became the Leader of August
According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, bullion gold yielded the highest rate for investors in August. When deflated by the CPI, the monthly real return of bullion gold was recorded at 7.93 percent.
Gold Return on D-PPI Basis
When deflated by the Domestic Producer Price Index, the monthly real return of bullion gold materialized at the level of 7.17 percent. With this rate, gold managed to leave other investment instruments behind.
Other Investment Instruments on CPI Basis
When deflated by the CPI, Government Internal Debt Securities followed bullion gold with a 1.38 percent gain. The euro provided a real return of 1.34 percent, and deposit interest offered 1.05 percent.
Instruments Generating Losses on CPI Basis
On the basis of the consumer price index in August, the US Dollar lost 0.15 percent in value. Meanwhile, the BIST 100 index caused a real loss of 1.13 percent for its investors.
Other Investment Instruments on D-PPI Basis
When the Domestic Producer Price Index was taken as the basis, GIDS provided a return of 0.66 percent. The euro yielded 0.61 percent and deposit interest earned 0.33 percent for investors.
Instruments Generating Losses on D-PPI Basis
When deflated by the D-PPI, the US Dollar caused a real loss of 0.86 percent for investors. The BIST 100 index ranked among the instruments that lost the most value with a drop of 1.83 percent.
