Financial Support from China for Kardemir Çelik's Solar Energy Investments in Van and Muş
Kardemir Çelik has secured international funding from China-based SİNOSURE for its 59-megawatt solar energy investments to be implemented in the provinces of Van and Muş.
Kardemir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. has secured 18 million 275 thousand dollars in credit financing from the People's Republic of China for its 59-megawatt solar power plant projects to be established in Van and Muş.
Financing Approval and Source
According to the disclosure made by Kardemir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the financing required for the solar energy projects is provided by SİNOSURE, the state credit insurance agency of the People's Republic of China.
The official approval process regarding the use of the said loan was completed as of September 29, 2026, and announced to the public by the company.
Profiles and Locations
The secured financing resource will be used to implement the 9.5 MWm/8MWe power plant to be established in Bulanık, Muş, and the 23.5 MWm/18 MWe capacity Dibekli SPP-1 and Dibekli SPP-2 facilities to be built in Van.
These projects, planned to have a total capacity of 59 megawatts, are expected to make a significant contribution to the renewable energy capacity in the region.
Commissioning Target and Consumption Rate
In statements made by the company management, it was emphasized that these solar power plants to be located in Van and Muş are targeted to be commissioned within a short period of seven months.
With the completion and activation of the investments, it is projected that 10 percent of the company's total electricity consumption will be met directly from solar energy.
Existing Energy Assets
Kardemir Çelik's currently active energy portfolio includes 19.7 megawatts of wind energy, 4 megawatts of solar energy, and a 1-megawatt waste heat recovery facility.
With the new projects to be commissioned, the company's renewable energy production infrastructure will be further secured.
