First Half 2026 Cargo and Postal Market Data Announced
As postal and cargo shipments increased in Turkey during the first half of 2026, comprehensive data regarding the sector were shared.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that cargo and postal shipments reached 728.31 million with a 5 percent increase in the first half of 2026.
Increase in Cargo Shipments
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that postal parcels and cargo shipments increased by approximately 5 percent in the first half of 2026, reaching 728.31 million.
According to the report prepared by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority, the growth momentum in cargo shipments continued in the first six months of the year along with the growth of e-commerce.
Top Cities and Distribution
The provinces with the highest number of cargo and postal shipments in the first half of 2026 were recorded as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, and Kocaeli, respectively.
Communication shipments reached 105.8 million in the same period; shipments in this area were mostly carried out in the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, and Antalya.
Shipment Weights and Types
According to the disclosed data, 82 percent of cargo shipments consisted of weights of 2 kilograms and below.
The share of those between 2 and 20 kilograms was recorded as 17 percent, while the share of those over 20 kilograms was 1 percent.
Delivery Times and Employment
While approximately 11 percent of domestic postal shipments were delivered on the day they were accepted, 88 percent reached recipients within two days at the latest.
A total of 122,804 people were employed in the postal sector, and 9,543 postal branches and agencies continue to provide services across Turkey.
