Access Blocked for 92 Accounts Regarding Armed Attack Outside School in Manisa
Following the armed attack in Turgutlu where students were injured, access to 92 social media accounts sharing misleading posts has been blocked.
As developments continue regarding the armed attack near a high school in Manisa's Turgutlu district, which resulted in 11 injured students, access has been blocked by judicial decision to 92 social media accounts determined to have made provocative and misleading posts about the incident.
Details of the Attack
In Manisa's Turgutlu district, an armed attack took place in the morning hours on the street near İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.
As a result of the attack, a total of 11 students, two of them seriously, were injured and taken to various hospitals.
Detentions and Investigation
H.O., a 15-year-old 9th-grade student at the same school identified as the perpetrator of the incident, was apprehended by security forces.
Following the apprehension of the suspect, his mother, father, and grandfather were also detained as part of the investigation and taken to the police station.
Suspension of Education
Following the grave incident, it was decided to suspend education for one day at the school where the attack took place.
An investigation was launched by the Ministry of National Education and three inspectors were assigned for the process.
Social Media Measures
Within the framework of efforts carried out under the coordination of the Directorate of Communications, digital channels were meticulously scanned.
During the examinations, 92 X accounts spreading misleading and provocative content to the public were identified.
Access Block Decision
As a result of the proceedings conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, access to the said accounts was blocked.
With this decision taken, it is aimed to prevent the spread of unfounded information intended to disrupt public order.
