Five-Language Dictionary of Economic Terms to Be Prepared for Kurdish
A five-language dictionary project containing approximately five thousand economic terms based on Kurmanji is being implemented through the cooperation of DTSO and the Mesopotamia Foundation.
In line with the protocol signed between the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mesopotamia Foundation, a comprehensive multilingual dictionary study has been launched to expand the use of Kurdish in the business and economic world.
Scope and Details of the Protocol
With the protocol signed in partnership by the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mesopotamia Foundation, it was decided to prepare a special dictionary containing approximately five thousand economic terms based on Kurmanji.
Equivalents in Five Different Languages
The work to be prepared is designed to have a total of five languages, including its equivalents in Turkish, Persian, Arabic, and English.
Signing Ceremony and Expert Commission
The protocol was signed by Faruk Korkmaz, Member of the DTSO Board of Directors, and Osman Akyıl, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mesopotamia Foundation, and an expert working commission was established for the process.
Publication and Redaction Process
The academic redaction, editorial arrangement, and layout stages of the dictionary will be carried out by the Mesopotamia Foundation, and when the works are completed, it will be published with the logos of both institutions.
Strengthening the Language of Economy
Faruk Korkmaz, Member of the DTSO Board of Directors, stated that the project aims to strengthen the terminological infrastructure in areas such as finance, investment, production, entrepreneurship, and foreign trade.
