Foreign exchange deposits increased according to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey data

Decline in Official Reserve Assets
According to the data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey for the week of September 18, 2026, the institution's official reserve assets decreased by 2.4 percent compared to the previous week, dropping to a total of $174.4 billion.
Distribution of Foreign Currency and Gold Assets
The Central Bank's foreign currency assets were recorded at $62.8 billion as of the week in question. In the same period, reserve assets denominated in gold increased by 1.2 percent on a weekly basis, reaching $111.6 billion.
Strong Increase in Foreign Currency Deposits
According to data adjusted for parity effects, foreign currency deposits recorded a total increase of $3.03 billion during the week of September 18. In the previous week, these deposits had shown an increase of $1.802 billion.
Distribution Between Individual and Corporate Accounts
According to the detailed data released, foreign currency deposits of individuals increased by $362 million during the relevant week, while deposits of corporate entities experienced a larger increase of $2.668 billion.
