Data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey revealed the movements in foreign exchange deposits and foreign investors' activity in the stock and bond markets during the week of September 25.

According to data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, while foreign exchange deposits continued to increase in the week ending September 25, non-resident foreign investors made stock purchases and bond sales.

Increase in Foreign Exchange Deposits

According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, foreign exchange deposits adjusted for parity effects increased by 1 billion 342 million dollars in the week of September 25.

In the previous week, total deposits had shown an increase of around 3 billion 30 million dollars.

Status of Individual and Corporate Entities

According to the published weekly data, foreign exchange deposits of individual persons experienced a rise of 1 billion 24 million dollars.

During the same period, an increase of 318 million dollars was observed in the deposits of corporate entities.

Foreign Investor Transactions

In the transactions of non-residents during the week of September 25, changes occurred with different steps taken on the stock and bond fronts.

Foreign investors made 358.6 million dollars worth of stock purchases in the relevant week while taking part on the selling side in the bond market.

Stock and Bond Market Data

While the stock sales of foreigners approached 110 million dollars the previous week, a buying trend was observed in the latest week.

Bond sales, which stood at 116.9 million dollars last week, reached 404 million dollars in the week of September 25.
