Following developments in global markets, the price of gasoline has been increased by 3.20 TL per liter. As a result of the hike, gasoline prices in the three major metropolitan cities have exceeded 80 TL.

Global Oil Markets and Shipment Issues

The resumption of mutual retaliations between the US and Iran has caused an increase in volatility in global oil markets. The fact that ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has come to a standstill and the decrease in oil shipments have created upward pressure on prices.

Current Gasoline Prices in Major Cities

Following the hike effective as of Saturday, September 12, 2026, the price per liter of gasoline rose to 80.12 TL in Istanbul. In Ankara, the liter price became 81.25 TL, while in Izmir it climbed to the level of 81.52 TL.

Price Levels in Eastern Provinces and Station Differences

The liter price of gasoline in eastern provinces rose up to the level of 82.88 TL. Fuel prices may show minor differences depending on the city, district, and station.

Key Factors Affecting Pump Prices

In addition to movements in oil prices and exchange rates, tax regulations also have a direct impact on the determination of pump prices.

Previous High-Amount Hike Date

The last high-amount increase prior to the 3.20 TL hike applied to gasoline on September 12, 2026, had taken place on Friday, September 4, 2026.
