GETAD Era Begins in Social Assistance

With the new regulation announced by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, the social assistance system is being brought together under the umbrella of the Income Complementary Family Support System.

Structural Transformation in Social Assistance

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced that a fundamental structural transformation has been carried out in Turkey's social assistance system. In order to protect purchasing power and make supports efficient during the process of combating inflation, all social assistance is being gathered under a single center named the Income Complementary Family Support System.

Minimum Income Guarantee Will Be Provided

Minister Şimşek stated that they aim to distribute the prosperity increase generated by the economic program fairly to all segments of society. It was emphasized that the share allocated from the budget for social supports reached 4.8 percent as of 2026, compared to 1.3 percent in 2002. With GETAD, a family-oriented structure is being established and the minimum income level is being placed under state guarantee.

Identification of Needier Persons with SERBİS

Evaluation processes have been renewed to ensure that supports reach actual needy individuals directly. Replacing traditional methods, the Social Economic Risk Information System analyzes the socioeconomic conditions of households with a scoring logic. Risk situations are examined precisely through an artificial intelligence-supported infrastructure.

Transparent and Digital Tracking Infrastructure

The model, carried out in the simulation and testing phase by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, will be implemented following legal regulations. Thanks to the infrastructure to be integrated into the Integrated Social Assistance Information System, citizens will be able to track support amounts and spending details instantly via a mobile application.
