The speech to be delivered by U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium is being closely monitored by investors.

Recent data indicating that inflationary pressures persist has overshadowed the optimism generated by chipmaker Nvidia's strong balance sheet.

Inflation Data and Interest Rate Expectations

The Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, which is the Fed's inflation gauge, increased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis in July.

According to pricing in money markets, the Fed is expected to keep interest rates steady next month, while a 25 basis point hike is anticipated in October.

Statements from Regional Fed Presidents

Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid emphasized that inflation remains stubborn, while Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack stated that action needs to be taken.

Boston Fed President Susan Collins also stated that she is open to supporting a new interest rate hike if inflation does not continue to decline.

Following these developments, the dollar index traded up 0.1 percent at 99.2, while the ounce price of gold declined 0.5 percent to $4,580.

Meanwhile, the barrel price of Brent crude oil for October delivery lost 0.6 percent of its value, dropping to $89.2.

European Markets and ECB Minutes

In European stock markets, a sell-weighted outlook stood out with the exception of Germany, and ECB meeting minutes showed that further hikes could occur if inflation does not fall.

On Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index finished the day at 14,575.51 points, while the dollar/TRY traded at 48.2450 in the interbank market with a 0.2 percent increase.
