Heading into Friday, gold prices showed a slight increase due to a 1 percent drop in oil prices and the US dollar pulling back from its peaks. Spot gold gained 0.2 percent to reach the level of $4,346.65.
Domestic Market and Expert Views
While gram gold is trading at 6,383.70 liras in the domestic market, Pepperstone Research Strategist Ahmad Assiri stated that the balance between oil and gold could shift. Assiri noted that factors such as a departure from fiscal discipline and budget deficits could support gold prices.
Central Bank Decisions
The US Federal Reserve (Fed) raised interest rates and signaled further hikes. The Bank of England kept interest rates on hold and issued warnings. Meanwhile, the Bank of Japan is expected to raise interest rates to its highest level in 31 years.
Other Precious Metals
Alongside the movement in gold, other precious metals also saw increases. Spot silver rose by 0.7 percent to $65.61, platinum gained 1 percent to $1,785.80, and palladium increased by 0.2 percent to $1,294.41.
