The harvest season has officially begun in the century-old vineyards in Bilecik, which are cultivated with great dedication by local producers. As part of ongoing efforts, approximately 8,100 tons of table grapes are expected to be harvested from an area of over 10,000 decares this year.

Harvest Program Organized

A special program was held for the grape harvest in Küre village, located in Bilecik's Söğüt district.

Authorities and numerous producers from the region participated in the organized event.

Governor Sözer Met with Farmers

Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer harvested grapes together with producers in the vineyards of Küre village.

Governor Sözer chatted with the farmers and received detailed information about agricultural activities in the region.

Production Quantities and Areas

Table grape production of approximately 8,100 tons is carried out across an area of 10,107 decares throughout Bilecik.

The Söğüt district ranks first across the province with 3,000 decares of vineyard land and an annual production of 2,400 tons.

Growing in the microclimate of the Sakarya Valley, the Küre grape possesses a high taste, aroma, and sugar content.

Although it has a thin skin, this product is suitable for transport and storage, and it is also utilized by being dried.
