Housing and Workplace Sales Statistics in Turkey in August
While housing sales across Turkey decreased compared to the same period of last year in August, mortgaged sales recorded an increase.
According to the August data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute, total housing sales across the country decreased on an annual basis to 127,410.
August Housing Sales Data
According to the August data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, total housing sales showed a decrease of 14.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
First-Hand and Second-Hand Housing Distribution
The number of first-hand houses sold across the country decreased by 4.5 percent in August to 44,378, while second-hand housing sales were recorded at 83,032 with a 19.4 percent drop.
Mortgaged and Other Sales Types
Mortgaged housing sales carried out across Turkey increased by 7.2 percent on an annual basis in August to 22,131, while other sales types decreased by 18.3 percent down to 105,279.
Sales to Foreigners
Housing sales made to foreign citizens showed a slight increase of 0.1 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching the level of 1,938.
