Initial Inflation Data Announced for Retiree and Civil Servant Salary Increases
With the announcement of September inflation data, initial calculations regarding the pension and civil servant raises to be applied in January 2027 have started to become clear.
Following the release of September inflation data, the initial figures for the raises that retirees and civil servants will receive in January 2027 have emerged. Over the three-month period, the inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees was realized at 5.57 percent.
September Inflation Rates
With the announcement of September inflation for the second half of the year, the raises that retirees and civil servants will receive have begun to take shape. While inflation stood at 1.84 percent in September, annual inflation was realized at the level of 29.79 percent.
Three-Month Inflation Developments
Inflation, which showed an increase of 0.99 percent in July and 1.78 percent in August, reached a total rate of 5.57 percent over the three-month period. This rate determined the initial inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
Status of SSK and Bağ-Kur Retirees
Along with the 1.84 percent September inflation, the raise or inflation difference entitled for SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree pensions over the three-month period has been finalized at 5.57 percent.
Civil Servant and Civil Servant Retiree Salary Calculation
Civil servants and civil servant retirees receive an inflation difference in addition to the collective bargaining agreement raise. In July, a 7 percent raise was applied to civil servant salaries and retired civil servant pensions.
Collective Bargaining and Inflation Difference
Civil servants, who received a 7 percent contract raise in July, will receive an inflation difference in the amount exceeding this rate, and the 5 percent raise stemming from the agreement will be added on top of it.
Period When January 2027 Raises Will Be Clarified
Total inflation in the said three months was realized at 5.7 percent, and this amount remained below the rate of the raise received. Therefore, there is no inflation difference accrued for civil servants yet.
Waiting for Year-End Data
Civil servants and civil servant retirees currently appear to receive a 5 percent raise tied to the agreement at the beginning of the year. New year raises will be finalized with the December inflation to be announced in January 2027.
