Response Evaluated in Cabinet Meeting
Iranian officials announced on Wednesday that an official U.S. response to Tehran's latest proposal has reached them. No details were shared yet regarding the content of the response or whether it includes a rejection.

Diplomatic Contacts and UN Summit
The cabinet meeting took place immediately after Foreign Minister Araghchi returned from New York, where he had traveled for the UN General Assembly. Meetings were held with Qatari and Pakistani mediators during the summit.
Strait of Hormuz and Sanction Discussions
Araghchi had previously proposed opening the strait within a week if the U.S. lifted its port blockade decision, released frozen assets, and abandoned sanctions on oil sales.
U.S. President Donald Trump found this proposal unacceptable and swiftly rejected it. Despite this, negotiations between the parties continued through intermediaries.
