Istanbul Global E-Export Summit Begins at Haliç Congress Center
Implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, TIM, and ETID, IGEXX 2026 will bring world-renowned e-commerce giants and domestic producers together in Istanbul.
While the global e-commerce volume, which grew rapidly after the pandemic, is expected to reach 7 trillion dollars, the Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX 2026), organized to increase Turkey's e-export share, will open its doors in September.
Summit Details and Institutional Cooperation
Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), and in cooperation with the Electronic Commerce Operators Association (ETID), the summit will take place at the Haliç Congress Center on September 3-5.
Prior to the event, Ministry of Trade Head of E-Exports Department Hasan Önal, TIM Vice President Çetin Tecdelioğlu, Ministry of Trade Deputy Director General for Exports Erbülent Kurşun, and ETID Secretary General Ömer Gürkan held a press conference.
Turkey's E-Commerce and E-Export Targets
TIM Vice President Çetin Tecdelioğlu stated that Turkey's e-commerce volume exceeded 4.5 trillion liras and 115 billion dollars in 2025.
Stating that they aim to increase the share of e-exports in total exports to 10 percent in the medium term, Tecdelioğlu emphasized that they aim to transform Istanbul into a global digital trade center.
Global Marketplaces and Giant Companies in Istanbul
The total e-commerce volume of the global marketplaces participating in the summit reaches 2.75 trillion dollars, which corresponds to approximately 40 percent of the global market.
While the number of marketplaces at the summit has risen to 50, important marketplaces from India and Latin America, along with platforms under China's Alibaba, Shein, and Temu, will come to Istanbul.
Expected Trade Volume and Economic Projections
At the previous summit, over 3,000 participants from 30 countries were hosted, and 900 companies held more than 2,000 bilateral meetings with 33 marketplaces, creating a trade volume of over 1 billion dollars.
Officials noted that a transaction volume of over 1 billion dollars is targeted in this year's organization as well, and Turkey is projected to complete 2026 with approximately 6 billion dollars in e-exports.
