Rutland Regional Medical Center Receives High Performing Awards in Four Categories

Rutland Regional Medical Center, located in the state of Vermont, was named a 2026-2027 High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in the fields of hip and knee replacement, hip fracture, and diabetes.

Important Success Achieved in Four Categories

Rutland Regional Medical Center earned the highest distinction title within the scope of the U.S. News Best Hospitals Procedures and Conditions ratings.

With the Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialty Clinic, the hospital became the only healthcare institution in Vermont to receive this rating across all four categories: diabetes, hip replacement, knee replacement, and hip fracture.

Evaluation Criteria and Scope

U.S. News thoroughly evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions.

Objective metrics such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and patient experience were fundamental during the evaluation process.

Evaluations by Management and Experts

Fewer than half of the thousands of evaluated hospitals earned the high-performing designation.

President and CEO Judi Fox stated that this success reflects the dedication of the Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic and the Diabetes and Endocrinology teams, while specialist physicians also shared their pride in the compassionate care provided.
