Large-Scale Companies Realized 46.1 Percent of Turkey's Exports in 2025
According to TURKSTAT data, large-scale enterprises accounted for 46.1 percent of total exports and 59.4 percent of imports in 2025.
According to the foreign trade statistics for 2025 announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, large-scale enterprises carried nearly half of the country's exports.
Enterprise Statistics and Company Distribution
The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the foreign trade statistics based on enterprise characteristics for 2025 with the public.
According to the disclosed data, a total of 166,459 enterprises made exports while 323,769 enterprises realized imports in 2025.
Distribution of Exports by Scale
Micro-scale enterprises accounted for 18.3 percent of total exports, and these companies constituted 74.2 percent of all exporters.
The share of small-scale enterprises with 10 to 49 employees was 17.3 percent, and the share of medium-scale enterprises was 18.3 percent.
The share of large-scale enterprises with 250 and more employees in exports was recorded as 46.1 percent.
Share of Large Companies in Import Data
While micro-scale enterprises realized 10.7 percent of total imports, the share of small-scale enterprises was determined as 11.9 percent.
The share of medium-scale enterprises in imports stood at the level of 18 percent.
While the share of large-scale enterprises in imports was 59.4 percent, these companies constituted 1.1 percent of total importers.
Sectoral Distribution of Foreign Trade
Enterprises operating in the manufacturing sector carried 57.6 percent of total exports and 45.4 percent of imports.
The share of enterprises in the trade sector was 37.7 percent in exports and 37.8 percent in imports.
While large companies stood out in manufacturing exports with a 70.3 percent share, SMEs were dominant in the trade sector.
The Position of the Largest Enterprises in Trade
The share of the top 500 enterprises in total exports was calculated as 51 percent, and their share in imports as 64.8 percent.
The top 5 exporting companies made 8.9 percent of total exports, and the top 5 importers made 13.8 percent of total imports.
